Leather & Lace

I can never say no to pretty lace dresses especially when they come in the most perfect off white shade.

Moto jackets in my opinion are the best outerwear no matter the season,
but of course if you're planning to bring it for winter, do remember to size up to fit your thermals and sweater underneath.
If not, getting one that fits you well make s a whole lot of difference :)

I threw on my favourite moto jacket to add a little bit of edge to a this feminine piece and added some pops of red with my bag and hat.
Perfect outfit for a movie date.

Lace Dress| H&M (Past Season)
Moto Jacket| Miss Selfridge
Black Boots & Wine Red Fedora| Stradivarius
Crossbody Bag| Salvatore Ferragamo

Have a lovely Thursday!~

IRRESISTIBLE ME - RUBY Auto-Rotating Curler Review

I'm back from my little hiatus with something a little different from my usual fashion and travel posts on the blog.

Today I'm going to share a review on the Irresistible Me Ruby Auto-Rotating Curler.
Hair can either make or break an outfit don't you think?
Who doesn't like good hair days? I know I definitely do and with the right tools,
it just makes things so much easier.

Let's take a look! :)
This is the Irresistible Me Ruby Auto-Rotating Curler,
I received it just a over a week after it was being sent out.
It was delivered via DHL which provided extra security cos parcel tracking was included.
I was so excited to finally unwrap the parcel!

First impression always counts and this baby definitely made a good one.
The curler came in a sleek black box with a magnetic closure and it was securely packaged cos there wasn't any damage considering it survived the entire trip halfway across the world.

Irresistible Me is a company based in New York, USA which sells mainly things related to hair. From 100% real hair extensions, wigs, accessories to hair tools.
You name it, they've got it.
The curler comes with a clamp which holds your hair securely while curling.
The curler is long which is good for those with long hair, but light weight at the same time which is a huge plus point cos you wouldn't want achy arms after curling you hair right?

Specifications of the curler:
  • Automatic Curling Iron with Auto Recovery Function
  • Comes with 2 curl directions clearly indicated
  • Ceramic Barrel fused with Tourmaline and Diamond coating
  • Fast heating technology (<1 Min), with 4 temperature settings to choose from
  • Auto shut off safety feature
  • Universal voltage
  • 2.5m and 360 degrees rotating power cord
  • 26mm barrel

I especially liked the auto rotating function cos unlike conventional curlers, I don't have to twist the curler around and deal with a tangled cord. The fast heat up function is also a huge plus point, it takes <1 minute to heat up!
So it basically speeds up the entire curling process.
The tourmaline gemstone being a natural source of negative ions, help eliminate frizz and lock in moisture thus creating smooth shiny curls every single time. The diamond coating also enhances heat transfer and durability.
It also has an auto shut off feature which provides extra safety while using the product.

Time for some pictures!
This is me with my straight hair before using the Ruby curler

In the process of curling my hair by sections.
This is advisable as you won't achieve the desired curls if you curl your hair in a big bunch.

Still in the midst of curling my hair but you can start to see the curls forming

Tadah, all done!
I added a flower crown to complement the curls

Right side curls

Left side curls

Figuring out how to use the curler wasn't difficult but if you need further assistance, you can also refer to the instruction manual inside the box.
The curl directions are clearly stated 'R' & 'L'.
The red button is the reset button which you press to allow the curler to return to its original position to help you achieve even curls every time.
There is a LED temperature indicator which shows which temperature setting you're at and you can increase and decrease the temperature depending on your preference.
The power off button is also located next to the temperature adjustment buttons.

The Irresistible Me Auto Rotating Ruby Curler is retailing for $119 on their website.
I know that it's not the cheapest curler out there given the wide variety that's easily available for us but it's definitely worth the money for the quality and how it takes care of my hair in spite of the heat treatment.

I really loved using the curler and will definitely recommend this to all fellow hair fanatics out there cos it helped achieve my desired look sans the hassle and cumbersome electrical cords!
P.S: Don't worry about the plug, simply use an international adapter and you're all set to have a curling good time ;)

Have a fabulous week ahead,
Till next time!

[OUTFIT] In The Mood For Red

This outfit is created by mixing and matching simple pieces and keeping the focus on RED!
I fell in love with this floral printed blouse the moment I laid my eyes on it and I knew I had to get it!
Its perfect for days where I don't really want to think too much and just pair with almost any bottom.
Love the vintage floral prints on this one!
For this look, I paired it with an asymmetrical hem skirt with lace details from Forever 21,
accessorized with a red beaded necklace from Lovisa to bring out the RED in the blouse and make my outfit POP!
Completed my outfit with simple studded black sandals from Charles & Keith and my red bag from LaPalette.
Been carrying my red soldier bag from LaPalette quite a bit recently...
if you follow my instagram, you will realise that!
Haha...maybe its cos of the colour?

I just love how it instantly adds colour to any outfit.
Anyway, here are more pictures!

Have a lovely midweek!

Get Snap, Blingo! Project Launch by VanityTrove

Went to the Get, Snap, Blingo! Project Launch on 5th March.
I was pleasantly surprised when I received an invitation to a beauty event since I usually blog more about my outfits and gastronomy escapades.
What really attracted me to this event was the colourful invitation poster and the theme;
Modern Hippie Chic!
First thought that came to my mind?
How fun it'll be to dress to the theme and it will also be so cool to see many fashionistas all decked in boho chic!
*excited*

Take a look at the very colourful invitation poster!
But this was my first beauty event so naturally I felt kinda nervous cos I didn't know what to expect and I didn't know anyone...
*butterflies in stomach*
But I was so glad to meet Jerlene on the way to Zouk :)

Wow, the dance floor at Zouk transformed into a beauty haven!
Look at the super cute Unicorn balloon sculpture! :)

Attempt at taking a mirror selfie with Jerlene of MusicalHouses,
one of the first people I met at the event or rather while walking to the event!
Haha!~

The DIY gelish station by The Pink Room!
Many girls were trying their hand at doing their own gelish manicure so it was pretty crowded hehe~

Yummy cakes from Emicakes!

Eggless options for lacto-ovo vegetarians

All entries entitled us to a drink so we took a break from all the activities to grab a drink.
In case some of you are wondering am I drinking alcohol?
Nope, that's coke light.
Anyway, while taking a breather, we spotted Rachel Kum, the founder of Rachel K Cosmetics and skincare line!
Talk about being starstruck!
LOL~
I love her line of cosmetics and skin care especially the "See The Difference" serum!
I really SEE the difference from days where I apply and days where I get alittle bit lazy :P
We asked the bartender to help us get a shot with Rachel and it turned out rather dark...
But then again, I can't expect much from a dimly lit location!
This is already the brighter shot of the two I got.
Maybe I should consider getting a new point and shoot semi-pro?

She's really tall and slim in person and not forgetting gorgeous and friendly too!

I edited the exposure of the picture but the pic is still super grainy!
MEH~~
But at least we got a pic with the beautiful Rachel K, Yay! :)

There was a game going on that night,
we were given a game card with tasks for us to complete and the winners stand to win very attractive prices like a staycation at Quincy Hotel,
luxury bag from Reebonz and so on...
The emcee getting ready with Mr Bunny to announce the winners of the GSB challenge!

Some of the other lovely people I met at the event :)

With June, Ena, Zean, Vera & Melissa :)

With lovely Melissa, Jerlene & Yina!

We met Sophie Willocq too! :)

With Francesca Tan!
I just watched the Elite Models Singapore show on tv,
seeing her in person was kinda cool haha~

With Shenny :)
Don't you just love her headband?
So boho chic!

Group shot but you can't see me cos I'm too short!
Spot the fingers?
:P

What I Wore:
Outfit Planning for the event!
Decided to go with this colourful babushka doll printed chiffon mini dress layered with a studded black vest, both I've had for years hahaha!
Ahhh...treasures you've long forgotten about till you go on a treasure hunt through your closet!
Completed my look with opaque tights from Topshop, felt fedora from Rubi, Coach Sling bag and Jefferey Campbell inspired Litas!
I'm still contemplating if I should get the authentic ones though...
Should I?? :/

And since I didn't manage to get good outfit shots at the event earlier, took some during supper instead! :)
By "good outfit shots" I mean with acceptable lighting, I look proportionate and visible outfit details.
These are some of the minimum criteria for me when I take outfit photos :)

Wearing the rings Alex bought me :)

Here's a peek at what's inside the goodie bag from the event!
Thank you VanityTrove for the generous goodies and the opportunity to meet and mingle with all the lovely ladies from the VT family!
:)

Have a lovely Monday!
XOXO~
