Into The Green

Traveling to a country during winter makes me appreciate daylight whenever I return.
It's true that with the short daylight, people tend to appreciate the warmth from the sun more.
I find myself reaching to absorb whatever warmth the sun provided on my recent trip to Japan.
It can get pretty depressing when you see the sun setting at 4 plus 5 in the afternoon but it's always good to get away from the heat and humidity every once in awhile!

I love sunny evenings cos there's always something about it that's whimsical and enchanting.
There's also something beautiful about that golden glow that it baths everything in..

Adding some statement bling
Love the simple and elegant design of the earrings

I've decided to keep things simple for this outfit by keeping white as my base colour and playing with lots of rich jewel tones from the floral prints on my skirt and accessories.
Statement accessories are also an interesting mix to a girly/feminine outfit.

A Little Red Never Hurt Anyone

A little pop of colour never hurt anyone especially if it's RED!
Definitely one of my favourite colours of all time.

I've never been much of a minimalist or 'monochromist' (haha I made up that word)..but
I do dress to my own interpretation of minimalism from time to time.
I'm usually more of a print/pattern person though I do agree that one cannot do without trusty basics.

I appreciate the minimalist style and I really enjoy seeing local fashion icon and fashion designer Yoyo Cao's interpretation of that style through her instagram posts.
I love that she doesn't only stick to the usual monochrome palatte but injects colour and textures to her outfits while keeping the overall clean and simple lines.

Today, I'm wearing a red eyelash lace dress from New Dress.
What attracted me to it was its square neckline and sleeve details and since I already own quite a number of white and black lace dresses, I decided to try out a red one this time.
For this outfit, I wanted it to be a good mix of tough and girly so I paired it with a pair of black boots. I felt that the flare sleeves lent a bohemian feel to the dress and added a black floppy hat and completed the look with a belt to define the waist.

The Shoulder Edit

I've always enjoyed reading fashion blogs/ magazines online and many of the fashionistas
I like have all embraced this style for the summer season!
I've also been following Zalora's online fashion magazine and I really agree with the statement 'the shoulder is one of the slimmest parts of the female body'.
It definitely falls into the 'must have' category in my closet!

Good for you if you've been blessed with a slim waist or legs and can flaunt them with mini shorts/ midriff baring tops,

I think this off-shoulder/ shoulder baring tops are one of the pieces that almost every female can carry off cos they show off the shoulders and collar bones.
Though this style is not a new trend but it's been gaining popularity
and I can totally understand why.
The pairings are almost endless!

In this post, I've decided to juxtapose a feminine lace off shoulder top with an equally popular ripped boyfriend jeans.
I've chosen to wear a pair of cross strap heels from Charles & Keith and completed my look with my Alma BB for that perfect mix of feminine, edgy and street chic.

Shoes & Bag

Guess what?
we headed to the highly acclaimed Lady M for some tea after our little back street photography jaunt.
Look at those amazing berries!
The place lived up to its reputation for good sweet treats but was a tad pricey..nonetheless, it's a lovely place to spend the afternoon.

Some other outfits sporting this off/cold shoulder trend:

1) Feminine pairing with this pastel pink culottes from FashMob,
nude Varina flats from Salvatore Ferragamo and rose gold clutch
for a weekend brunch date.

2) Fringe Lace Skirt with a cold shoulder top and
pops of orange for accessories for a casual dinner date

3) Edgy X Feminine pairing on the streets of Bangkok.
Kept cool with this floral cold shoulder cropped top from Love,Bonito
and white highwaisted ripped boyfriend jeans.
Completed the look with gold accessories c/o O'oro Accessories.

Which one is your favourite? :)

With the ever humid climate on our sunny island,
this fashion option is like a God send!
It not only helps us beat the heat, it also allows us to stay chic at the same time.

Have a fantastic day ahead!

[OUTFIT] Romantique

July, the month where Summer is in the air and pretty flowers blooming in its full glory.
Imagine what a joy it'll be, taking walks along the Seine in Paris or St. James Park in London admiring these lovely sights.
Dreamer?
Maybe.
But I'll always be a romantic at heart.

In this post,
we attended a friend's wedding lunch so I wore this beautiful cocktail dress with intricate lace details paired with nude coloured lace peep toe heels and gold toned accessories to keep the look classy and feminine.
I wore my shoulder length tresses in a simple braided side bun updo for a romantic touch.

Gold accessories are my favourite,
they never fail to add a touch of luxe to any outfit.
When I saw these babies in Paris,
I knew I had to bring them home with me!
I love Ferragamo's signature bow designs,
they're such timeless classics.

How it looks like from the back

Alex found this photography spot and suggested taking some photos here,
I really like how the photos turned out!
This place looks so serene.
I'm thankful he's so supportive of my hobby :)
I'm glad to be able to enjoy this moment of serenity with him in a bustling little metropolis we call home.

[OUTFIT] Florals & Pastels X Joe & Dough

Mondays are my favourite days cos they're my day off! :)
I work on weekends and can't spend time with my loved ones then, so its during the weekdays that I get to spend time with them.
Like today, I accompanied my mom while she ran errands for my dad's company and we'll usually chat and bond over these late lunches/ cafe dates.

OOTD

I'm trying to grow out my fringe cos I've had bangs for the longest time and I felt like I needed a change though I really loved having bangs.
You know that growing stage can be rather annoying cos your bangs are neither here nor there. Too short to be side swept, too long to be worn as it is cos it pokes your eyes?
Yea, tell me about it!
So, I've decided to try out this braided fringe hairstyle to keep my bangs out of my eyes and I curled my hair for a more feminine look to match my outfit :)
Mom's OOTD
Very stylish for her age! ;)
My mom favourite footwear are loafers.
She has so many different pairs, in different styles cos she says they are comfy and stylish.

#wefie

Initially, I wanted to bring my mom to Patisserie G at Millenia Walk to try their Lemon Tart but it was pretty crowded when we walked past the cafe and decided to give it a miss and try out Joe & Dough instead.
It was a good call cos the cafe was not crowded and had a very comfortable feel to it and the best part? It's not crowded so you can basically enjoy an afternoon with a good book and a nice cuppa without anyone disturbing you.

The cafe had lemon tart so we ordered that, shared a sandwich while I had my coffee fix and she had an iced hazelnut latte.
I'll have to admit, pretty latte art makes me happy :)
