On this summer's evening, I've chosen to don this monochrome floral midi dress for our little cafe date.

A signature item never gives itself away.

I have a penchant for moto jackets, I absolutely love them for their versatility!

As much as I like coloured moto jackets, I think having one in black is a must. 

It's classic, timeless and can be paired with so many different outfits.

I've brought this particular piece with me on so many of my trips, it has become my 'go to' piece when it comes to choice of outerwear.

Of course, knowing me I'd usually bring more than one piece of outerwear depending on the climate of the country I'm travelling to.

Unfortunately, the weather in sunny Singapore doesn't really allow for us to wear much outerwear, even less of leather ones but that doesn't hinder my love for them.

So every time the weather is slightly cooler, you can be sure I'll be taking my chances!

I'd definitely classify this moto jacket as my signature item ;)

[OUTFIT] Très Chic

It's an open secret that I'm in love with tulle.

Whatever the length; midi, mini or maxi, I simply adore them all!

I credit this to being exposed to all the Disney movies and ballet at a tender age.

Tulle never fails to add that magical touch of whimsy and joy whenever its worn.

I love seeing my students coming to class in all their cute little tulle skirts and they too feel really happy donning these "magic skirts" :)

That being said, tulle can often be deemed as too 'princessy' for daily wear but I beg to differ. It's really about what you pair it with cos a tulle skirt is a really versatile piece to mix and match with!

In this post, I've decided to pair my cobalt blue tulle skirt with a slouchy slogan tee and opted for accessories in basic tones for a laid back yet chic look.  

I love hats and I often feel like my outfit's incomplete without donning one!

My collection is well...quite a collection :P

My next house has to have not just a walk in wardrobe for my clothes but a hat section for all my darlings ♥

Hightea At Hotel Fort Canning

Went for hightea at Hotel Fort Canning with my friend Belle on Monday.

Its my day off and she's having her school holidays now; 
she teaches in a school so we thought, why not? :)

The journey there was quite an eventful one.

I picked her up at her home and on my way there, it started to pour like crazy!
There were flash floods along the way and I was so scared that something will happen to the car! 
The water from the flash floods were going into the private houses along lowland road.
I guess that's why they named the place lowland road :/
Anyway, there was also a tree that fell and the a 3 lane road became a 1 lane road cos one of the cars was trapped in the flood and that took up a lane.
The water came up to half wheel, my break lights came on and I was really scared that the car will stop or something...   
I told myself to keep calm, continue driving slowly and take a different route, 
let the water wash out of the engine or anywhere it went into earlier..
PHEW!

Finally made it to pick her and off we went to Hotel Fort Canning for our hightea in the park.
Though it was a rainy day, the hotel looks beautiful; cosy and luxurious interiors, full of old world charm.
The restaurant we had the hightea was not located in the main building so we had to walk out to the lawn area to access the restaurant.
We were ushered in by a very warm service staff who recommended us to get one set to share instead of two to try other items on their menu.
So we tried their chef's recommendation; cappuccino truffle mushroom soup.

The hightea set included coffee/ tea so we had the TWG tea and chose the Earl Grey.

Sweets consisting of mini macarons and sugar rolls

The cappuccino truffle mushroom soup was so fragrant and tasty!

After the hightea, we took a little stroll around the hotel.

Wore my favourite midi skirt from AforArcade, I have this in almost all colours!
Yes, I'm that OBSESSED. 
Paired it with a striped top and since it was a rainy day, I finally wore my rain boots with ice cream socks! haha!

While this was not one of the most delicious food I've had,
the company, ambience and warm service by their service staff made up for far more than just good food.
Some places have very good food with bad service so what't the point right?
It cost us less than $50 for two for an afternoon of light bites in the lush green surroundings of beautiful Fort Canning Hotel.

[OUTFIT] Blanc et Noir

For friends who know me personally or friends who've been reading my blog or following me on Instagram, you'd know I'm a huge fan of prints.

I'm definitely not one you'd classify as minimalist. 

But for this outfit, 

I decided to try out something different from my usual style.

I've been very inspired by the wide leg palazzo pants look that's been trending all through spring and summer.

Contrary to popular belief about palazzo pants being only for tall thin women/models, 

I think someone who's vertically challenged can also pull off this look with the right kind of pairing and foot wear of course!

To balance out the wide leg silhouette, I chose to pair it with a simple loose fit sleeveless white button down which was perfect for our tropical weather.

I'd also pair it with fitted tops but personally I'd prefer to strike a balance by pairing with  

off-shoulder designs or horizontal stripes.    

The long length of the pants actually added height to my petite frame when paired with heels.

The height of the heels will also be affected by the length of your pants.

For mine, I think I altered it a tad too short for me to actually wear higher heels so I chose to pair it with this silver kitten heel to give it a metallic modern touch that went well with my necklace, earrings and watch.

Though the heels are not very high, I felt super tall in my palazzo pants that day!

Totally loving the roomy leg space too :)
