Versatility is A State of Mind

With temperatures at a perpetual high on our sunny little island, it's safe to say we wish for cooler temperatures. With the recent haze issue where we feel like being stuck in a slow pressure cooker, breathing in the burnt smell without the view of blue skies, I think we are all pretty happy that we are able to see blue skies again!

I'm celebrating the return of the blue skies and hot evening sun in this outfit.
I've always liked floral prints and have been looking for a structured and unique tube top.
I was thrilled when I finally found this one from MDS Collections cos I really liked the asymmetrical hemline and the 'V' neckline.
I wanted a clean and sleek look so I paired it with a pair of white culottes and
I also chose accessories that brought out the rich jewel tones of the top.
The rich jewel tones of the top, bag and earrings are ♥ ♥ ♥ !

luxurious shade of royal purple!

I like that this outfit is more versatile than it seems!
It's perfect for a beach holiday by swapping those heels with pretty sandals and the quilted bag for a straw bag and not forgetting the floppy hat to protect our face from the sun.
It's also good for a casual shopping day when paired with some ballerina flats or made more corporate friendly by adding a structured blazer.
The top can also be tucked into a high waist maxi skirt and look like gown for attending weddings.

I'll be sure to try out these outfit ideas soon!

La Fleur de Nuit

Evenings after work are best spent with those close to heart.
You can just be yourself without the need for incessant chatter and small talk,
simply unwind over a cup of coffee and some magazines at your favourite cafe.

On this summer's evening, I've chosen to don this monochrome floral midi dress for our little cafe date.

A signature item never gives itself away.
It's timeless.
It transcends fashion.

- How to be Parisian Wherever You Are

I have a penchant for moto jackets, I absolutely love them for their versatility!
As much as I like coloured moto jackets, I think having one in black is a must.
It's classic, timeless and can be paired with so many different outfits.

I've brought this particular piece with me on so many of my trips, it has become my 'go to' piece when it comes to choice of outerwear.
Of course, knowing me I'd usually bring more than one piece of outerwear depending on the climate of the country I'm travelling to.

Unfortunately, the weather in sunny Singapore doesn't really allow for us to wear much outerwear, even less of leather ones but that doesn't hinder my love for them.
So every time the weather is slightly cooler, you can be sure I'll be taking my chances!
I'd definitely classify this moto jacket as my signature item ;)

[PHOTO DIARY] Sunday's Brights

Sundays are the best days to spend time with your loved ones.
Though I have to work on Sundays, grabbing brunch and a cuppa never fails to brighten up the day :)
In this post I'm wearing one of my favourite dresses from SheCaptivates.
For those who know me, I am a huge fan of prints and colour so this dress perfectly fits the bill.
Love the dress' flattering 'skater' cut cos it helps balance my shape(I'm heavier on the bottom) and I paired my favourite black hat, statement booties(as my husband calls them cos he picked them out!) and Ferragamo crossbody bag.

We visited two cafes, Wheeler's Yard & Ronin.
While the former is really popular cos its been around for quite awhile, the latter does not lack in popularity despite being newer in comparison.

The mandatory shot with the cafe's popular blue front

Alex picked them out from the store cos he says they're unique so he calls them "your black statement boots". They rank high on his list whenever I ask "what shoes do I wear? Lol~

Ronin's coffee...WOW!
These fig scones were freshly out of the oven and we got there so we gave them a try too.
Boy were they yummy! :)

[OUTFIT] Blanc et Noir

For friends who know me personally or friends who've been reading my blog or following me on Instagram, you'd know I'm a huge fan of prints.
I'm definitely not one you'd classify as minimalist.
But for this outfit,
I decided to try out something different from my usual style.

I've been very inspired by the wide leg palazzo pants look that's been trending all through spring and summer.
Contrary to popular belief about palazzo pants being only for tall thin women/models,
I think someone who's vertically challenged can also pull off this look with the right kind of pairing and foot wear of course!

To balance out the wide leg silhouette, I chose to pair it with a simple loose fit sleeveless white button down which was perfect for our tropical weather.
I'd also pair it with fitted tops but personally I'd prefer to strike a balance by pairing with
off-shoulder designs or horizontal stripes.

The long length of the pants actually added height to my petite frame when paired with heels.
The height of the heels will also be affected by the length of your pants.
For mine, I think I altered it a tad too short for me to actually wear higher heels so I chose to pair it with this silver kitten heel to give it a metallic modern touch that went well with my necklace, earrings and watch.
Though the heels are not very high, I felt super tall in my palazzo pants that day!
Totally loving the roomy leg space too :)
