Lunch Gathering

After working on the new launch on the computer for the entire morning, I met my mom, Phebe and Aunty Lai Keow for hightea at Carousel, Royal Plaza on Scotts. 

Happy to meet them cos I haven't seen them since Phebe's wedding on 28th Dec last year! :)

Carousel  remains one of our favourite places for hightea because they have a wide variety of food. 

*stomach rumbling after typing this* 

For people who love seafood, I heard that their seafood spread at their dinner buffet is very good!

I didn't really take a lot of pics of the food  cos I didn't bring my camera :(

December's Highlights - Studio M Staycation!

December is truly one of my favourite months of the year! No doubt its also the favourite time of the year for many others :) With Christmas and NYE in the same month, it can get alittle overwhelming with all the gift shopping and preparations etc etc. I'm glad that Alex was able to clear leave during this period and we got to spend some time together during the weekdays. We went for a staycation at Studio M Hotel. Its great because its in a pretty relaxing area, Robertson Quay which is near town but away from the Christmas crowds. *shudders at the thought* We drove there after dropping by Far East to stock up on our rack at Blogshop Empire and lunch.

I really like the "loft" style of the room and the wide full length windows!

Though I don't really like tanning or being under the sun much, I love the natural sunlight streaming in from the windows <3

Okay, time to set out for Vivocity for some tea and Christmas shopping! Tourists for a day right? That also means taking public transport! We strolled along the river to Clarke Quay station and that also means more photos YAY! :D

We went to Bakerzin for their weekday teatime special upon reaching Vivo after which, we went to get my iPhone 5S! Yessss!! I can finally get rid of my 8GB iPhone 4 that was still running on iOS5 when everyone else was already running on ios7 simply cos it has no space. 

Beyond happy to receive that as my Christmas present from Alex! :D

Headed back to the hotel after a simple dinner at Wangz cafe.

Next morning we explored the hotel, saw this walkway with natural sunlight streaming in and I can't resist taking some pics here. My OOT:D for brunch was really simple. The whole idea of this staycaion was to relax right? So the pieces I packed were also vacation style LOL.

 Off to brunch! You know what they say... A hungry man is an angry man >.<!!

We walked to Common Man Coffee Roasters for brunch. 

We actually drove past this place quite a few times and wanted to try so today's the day!

Okay, the platter was very big and the plate? 

VERY HEAVY!!

Alex ordered the Common Man Breakfast Platter.

Looks really good!

Love the crispy bacon and sautéed mushrooms. 

Didn't try the rest cos it's not my breakfast. 

But Alex said it was very filling and the food is great! 

They were very generous with their portions. 

I think this breakfast platter can be for 2.

Here's mine!

  I ordered churros cos I didn't want something too heavy but when it came..it really looked like I had ordered dessert instead of breakfast haha! 

Generous portions as well.

The churros were freshly made so they tasted slightly different from the ones I usually have.

I really love this floral cutout cropped top! 

It's perfect for pairing with shorts for casual outfits or layered over basic maxi dresses to jazz it up.

We went back to the room to pack up, preparing for check out.

Chocolates Anyone?

Chocolate lovers paradise at Wimbly Lu, Jalan Riang or so we thought... Upon entering the cafe, the warm and cosy interior was indeed inviting! But because we didn't make reservations, the only seats left for a table for 2 was right at the entrance. Not that I mind because I can just turn my head and see all the goodies they had to offer without leaving my seat! 

After looking through their menu, we finally decided on the items we wanted to order and called the waitress. 

Alex: 1 baked rice

Staff: Sorry it's all sold out

Alex: Okay.. 2 cottage pies then

Staff: ok

Returns 3 minutes later....

Staff: Sorry the cottage pies are all sold out too.

Alex & I look at each other and ended up ordering fries, chicken nuggets and cheese toasties.

The food came and the cheese toasties were actually those sandwiches you make at home using the sandwich maker. Hmm.... The chicken nuggets were not the typical fast food kind so it was still ok. The fries also ok. 

We've heard so much about they desserts so we decided to try them out. Alex ordered the rootbeer chocolate cake with vanilla ice-cream and I ordered the chocolate creme brûlée. If you aren't a rootbeer fan like me, please don't order the rootbeer chocolate cake. It brought back all the bad memories of throwing up after drinking rootbeer as a kid. Eew. If you are a rootbeer fan, please order. I think you will like it. My chocolate creme brûlée was something different but after eating that unforgettable creme brûlée at Grand Park Hyatt Hotel in HCM, this pales in comparison. 

Will we go back to Wimbly Lu? 

Hmm...

Maybe only for tea preferably on a weekday afternoon. 

[OUTFIT] Give Me A Little Lime

Very happy that its good eyeliner day ;)

Some days are just testing my patience in the eyeliner drawing portion during makeup.
GRRRR....
Wearing Clinique's Chubby Stick in Whoppin Watermelon, which gives the lips a very light and natural pinkish tinge and it also moisturizes the lips at the same time!  
Opted for a messy high bun as I felt that it complimented this outfit.
I was also trying to camouflage my fading purple ombre tips ;)

Besides, it's a hairdo that won't ever go wrong in this tropical climate of ours!

The daisy print blouse was a love at first sight for me, I knew I wanted to pair it with this cobalt blue leather skirt the moment I laid my eyes on it.

I was really feeling the lime and cobalt combination that day and pairing it with black would've been a little too predictable for me...

 We moved on to explore the area a little bit and found this place where we thought might make a good photo spot. 

I'm glad we took photos here cos.....

I super love the golden glow of the evening sun in these pictures! 

After the shoot, we went for dinner at Hotpot culture at Marina Square with my parents. We also walked around abit after dinner to digest the food hahaha... I kinda like going to Marina Square cos it isn't very crowded and you won't feel like you have to jostle with others just to move around the mall.

I love Sundays where I can just chill after work and have dinner with those close to heart.
